Alice Wallace Fathers Day Special

June 18 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Alice Wallace returns home to southern California from Nashville for a very special Father’s Day show entitled “Songs of my Father,” with support from Los Angeles artist Sara Dee.

Alice has always credited her parents with instilling in her a love for music from an early age. She grew up singing with her mother and father and the songs they sang together informed the kind of artist she would become. Songs by artists like Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Judy Collins, Leonard Cohen, Merle Haggard and others were the soundtrack to her childhood and would later have a profound effect on her as a songwriter and performer. Not only will Alice be sharing many of the songs that influenced her as a young singer, but she’ll be inviting her father, Cleve, to make a guest appearance on the Campus Jax stage. Opening artist Sara Dee will also be having her father, papa John, join her during her set for this very special Father’s Day tribute.

In addition to highlighting songs from her childhood, Alice will also be sharing songs from her forthcoming album being recorded in Nashville this spring. The songs are Alice’s strongest to date: songs about coming to love her new home in Tennessee, songs about navigating her life as a touring artist and the relationships that come and go as a result, and songs that truly tap into what Alice does best when she stands on a stage behind a microphone.

“Wallace’s voice is a powerful natural occurrence…an awe-striking wonder of the West,” said Saving Country Music.
Alice was named the Female Vocalist of the Year at the California Country Awards in 2017 and her vocal power is one of the first things noted in every review she ever receives.

Sara Dee has performed throughout both the United States and Europe with three independently released full length albums. She won ‘Best Folk Song’ and was nominated ‘Best Live Band’ in L.A. Weekly. Her music has aptly been penned “Feisty Folk- A hybrid of Patsy Cline and Madeleine Peyroux- sultry, rich, and sweet. This musical force can belt with power and grit.
Sara Dee has an acoustic guitar and voice strong enough to clean the rust off nails… songs of life, trial, and hope. …With a vocal range that runs from beautiful and soft, to severe and raw” (Dirty Hippie Radio).

Dee also holds a degree and board certification in music therapy as a clinical music therapist practitioner, having served hundreds of families both locally and abroad for mental health, early childhood development, Dementia and Alzheimer’s, and other special needs.
