Dennis Gruenling has been awarded the title of ‘Best Modern Blues Harmonica Player’ three years in a row by Real Blues magazine. With the Nick Moss Band featuring Dennis Gruenling, he won two Blues Music Awards for ‘Band of the Year’ and ‘Traditional Blues Album of the Year’ for Lucky Guy.
India-born Aki Kumar’s harmonica playing is rooted in the classical style invented by Little Walter and others, but his blues style is eclectic. Kumar expresses his pride in his Indian heritage by creating a fusion of East and West that he calls “Bollywood Blues.”
Together, these three veteran harpists bring the Blues Blowout to Campus JAX in Newport Beach, a late afternoon delight at a true supper club with reserved seating and fine food.
