Born in Oklahoma, Champian is widely regarded as one of the most gifted musicians of her generation. At just 10 years old, she had her first professional engagement, leading her own band for Clark Terry's 75th birthday celebration. A mainstay on New York's vibrant jazz scene, Champian has performed with jazz legends like Lou Donaldson, Frank Wess, Scott Hamilton, Buster Williams, and Louis Hayes. Her swinging style and charismatic performances have captivated audiences from New York to Barcelona, making her a dedicated guardian of jazz's rich legacy. With 13 self-released recordings to her name, Champian was named a Rising Star by DownBeat magazine's Critics' Poll. Her electrifying presence and captivating musicality have made her one of the most sought-after jazz artists of today.
