Two icons of the surf music genre come together for a once-in-a-lifetime show at Campus JAX in Newport Beach.
The Surfaris are “those” Surfaris, the ones of “Wipeout” and “Point Panic,” including on lead guitar the only remaining member of the original group, Bob Berryhill, who is still rocking on stage and playing guitar incredibly well. It’s one performance not to miss, showcasing all the standard originals of the legendary band, as well as some classic covers they were doing in 1963.
Surfer Joe (stage name for Lorenzo Valdambrini) is one of the top touring surf musicians in the world since many years and the most active surf band existing. With an international fame built since the 90s over the many tours done, and the Surfer Joe Summer Festival of Italy, the biggest and most prestigious surf music event in the world, Surfer Joe delivers a killer set of originals out of his recordings.
What’s curious of this “dynamic duo” presentation is that the song “Surfer Joe” was the A-side of “Wipeout” and one of the classics of the Surfaris, so “Surfer Joe opens for The Surfaris” is a dynamite combination.
Both bands will play with an all vintage Showman stage setup, something that will really bring you back to the origins of this is genre for a unique and amazing experience!
